It could have been, was the fuse extended? I'll ask him tomorrow, I was going to see about the BD's pictures. Got me thinking, not a bad looking plane...

I can't remember if the plane looked modified or not, it was a while ago (~mid 90's I think) and I probably wouldn't have recognized the mods at the time either... It put on a nice show for the crowds though.

Kelly

PS: have you run the engine yet, or chosen the kit to strap around it?

Updates

Just thought I would post a couple more progression "beauty" shots of the BD-5J. It's starting to look like a plane now.
The plane's flying surfaces are all hinged and "roughed in". Final shaping of tip blocks will be next as well as final mounting of all flying surfaces. I just dread the thought of the final sanding, glassing, sanding, sanding, sanding, and more sanding are not far away!
By next week I should be able to post some detailed pics of the turbine and exhaust mountings.

BD5

Myles- Looking good mate! are you making the rudder functional on your BD5? it looks like you have the servo cutout done already for the rudder servo in those pics.
Just a thought.... you probably could well do away with the functional BD5 rudder as this would help with the rearward weight issues plus you would increase fin strength.
Have you got any pics of the wing spar set up on the BD5? I would be curious to see that...

BD-5

I made the cutouts for the rudder servo but for now the rudder will be in a static position. If I decide to use the rudder later on, I'll have everything already done for it.
I'll post more progress pics this weekend.
