Cool Velocity-RC Mirage - Two Maidens with Video

Hey all,

Thought I'd show off my latest jet after it's second maiden flight. The first maiden didn't go so well - I had modified the aileron setup to a torque rod setup which wasn't able to cope with the large elevons and 100mph - crash! A few repairs and fibreglass upgrades resulted in a great jet! My friend Tom brought his jet out for its first maiden on the same day, so there was lots of excitement!

I was going to go 5S but the model can be somewhat noseheavy so I went for a lighter battery. However with my ESC mounted at the back I'm pretty sure I can put the extra weight of a 5S battery up front. I could swap the power system with my T-33... Hmmmm

Yeah, this time of year we are sometime still in full-on monsoon season. We've had a few good days here and there. Friday was a very good day.

Latest video - I'm getting much more comfortable with this jet, especially when slowing down. This jet LOVES high alpha! There's tons of power to accelerate out of the slow flight regime as well - which is nice when your field is surrounded by trees (make sure you watch to the end of the video!).
