I had another look at this yesterday. The circuit board is held on by a single self tapping screw near the rear of the board. About half way up the board are a couple of holes that molded plastic pegs fit in. They were not in the holes, probably cause I bounced it off of everything in the living room. I reset the board properly and the fault is still there. I suspect that because of the rough treatment the circuit board is cracked. The tail servo works but the gyro does not. I am going to take the board out and have a good look at it with my magnifying glass. I think that the self tapping screw was a bad idea.
