CP Pro antenna...

This may be a silly question, but..........does the length of the antenna really have to be that long? Wrapped around the landing gear? There has to be a better way. don't you think? Any thoughts on this?

You can go with a base loaded antenna, that way you can chop most of it off.. otherwise you have to leave it long

I'm sorry, but I don't understand.........what's a base loaded antenna? And how do I get one? Or set it up? Thanx for the help, by the way.

the antenna has to be a set length to receive the signal properly. As stated, you can go with a base load antenna, which is shorter, however it weighs more. This is not desired on a micro heli. I personally run base load antennas on my helicopters though. If your on runryer, check out my profile 'carlyle' and you can see what a base load is.

I've used Dean's with good results on smaller helis. Here's another even smaller choice:

Or you can wrap the antenna on a thin straw or tube. Just make sure that if you do this, while coiling the wire, do not overlap.

You should be able to get all the wire on a 5-6" thin tube or straw.

Other than that, as the others have said. A dean's or baseloaded ant is the way to go.

Wow! Great info, guys! Thanx! I think I'll go the thin straw route......seems to be the cheapest.
The Dean's way would be my next choice, though.
