I was standing next to him during those flights, and what gets you the most is the sound of the blades...you can FEEL them almost. Mind-blowing.

Thumbs up Re: Colin Bell 3D - Video

What was really fun, was listening to the neighbours who came over as casual spectators. They were amazed as Colin hovered and did a few warm up pirouettes. Their amazement when he started into his routine was priceless! I'm pretty sure at least one of the ladies wet themself!!

Re: Colin Bell 3D - Video

I can just imagine the damage that a 700 would cause on bare skin. Good thing it was winter to watch so close. I don't think that would be covered by MAAC insurance

Great video, and I sure it was lots of fun.

Hi
A note on safety
All the folks from the local area that came out to watch were up on the lawn or deck in front of the cottage approx 50 - 120 feet back from the pilots (station dependent) and were kept well away from the pilot stations. The people Vince mentions above can't be seen in any of the videos. Additionally there was a an orange warning tape barrier maintained all day at the edge of the ramp to the lake. The four folks you see in one shot filming Colin are all heli pilots and are aware of the risks associated with RC helicopter operation.
Also, you will note in the video that there are no other pilot stations in use when Colin is flying.
Good point though, safety is important, and worth raising.
Cheers

Re: Colin Bell 3D - Video

Thanx for the great video Tower!

As for Colin, not only is he a great and innovative pilot but he is a great embasador for the hobby and does Canada proud everywhere he goes internationally.

So a big well done to both Tower and Colin here!
