stopping servo twitch on power up

Ok, I was using a HS 81 servo for my Robart air valve, and once I powered it up the servo would always try to move past the valves limit causing gear damage. I am using a 4 cell nicad 1100mah and a AR6200 RX. All the other servos are HS475's
I have a new HS 82 MG on its way. I have seen these servo leads that have a diode inline on the positive wire acting as a regulator. What is the best way to stop over travel on a gear servo. thanks

Re: stopping servo twitch on power up

what if you tried to adjust the end points to prevent the excess travel

Re: stopping servo twitch on power up

I did try that but still notice that it moves (1 to 2 sec's) before the rx connects. the only thing I can think of is setting the fail safe setting at neutral (valve centered) so if it moves it won't bind at the end of the valve travel.

I've been designing and repairing electronics including RC stuff for over two decades, I've read this sentence five times; I still cannot understand it.

Where did you see what?

Thanks.

Re: stopping servo twitch on power up

Do the servos attached to an AR6200 move to failsafe before it connects? Do they move before it connects? There is something wrong here, hope it's not the design.

Your failsafe positions are set wrong.

Re: stopping servo twitch on power up

My understanding of these diodes is to drop the voltage a bit to take the edge off for the smaller servo's. All servos will twitch when power is on just before the rx connects, then move to fail safe settings. I only had a problem with this valve servo because the fail safe was set for gear down. The servo now wants to move further the the valve will allow causing striped servo gears. I think I will need to wait untill I get the new servo to reset all the fail safes.

servo saver is what you are looking for my friend, can be made with ball point pen springs

Two collars, two springs:
