Thank you for saying that Andrew!
I get very tired of the comments like "You fly turbines?? You must be doing really well!"
The truth is, right now we are on the brink of our shop closing due to the economy, fortunately, all the airplane stuff I have is paid for. I bought my first turbine on a credit card, after that I said never again, if I can't afford it outright, I won't have it.

I posted this thread a while back, kinda sums it all up.

Anyway, that BVM F100F is an awesome airplane, if you break it down cost wise it's not a bad deal really,

New kit from BVM $7767.00
Wing tanks $258.50
Pylon kit $365.00
Cockpit $583.00
Wing fences $20.50
Probe and pitot tube $30.50
BVM pilots $80.00 each = $160.00

Total for the complete kit = $9184.50

There is an easy $2000 in servo's alone (17 digital servo's)
Smart fly system, batteries, regulator etc, another $600
Drogue chute package, lighting package etc another $1000 by the time all is said and done
BVM Jet Cradle $100
Artes Rhino $3700.00

Total in other hardware and engine = $7400.00

Total for airplane new = $16584.50

I don't know what the current rate for having a build done is, but I know that it used to be the build would cost the equivalent of the kit price. I know a few builders that their deal was, you buy one for you, and one for me. So you can add another close to 10K probably for the build (speculation, I don't know what he paid, but Tommy Woods is a known reputable builder and they don't come cheap)

So yes, this is a very expensive airplane, it would probably cost you close to $27,000 to do it new IF you were having it built for you.

The guy who offered $100 should be kicked in the head until he's got some sense

In today's market, I doubt it will sell at $17,500. At least not for a good long while, but as bbbair said, there is somebody out there who wants one of these and will be thinking it's a great deal eventually.

To bad it won't be me haha!!
