5 Blade Head and Fuselage for T-rex 450

I thought that a 5 blade head would look really neat on a Hughes 500 fuselage on my T-rex 450. Just like the pictures in the ad! I had read that the Flymentor 3D might work as a flybarless control. So I installed the new head on my T-rex 450 with Flymentor and tried it! Not even close. The heli was totally unstable both with and without the Flymentor working. Good thing I put on my dowel and ping pong ball training gear! I did put it down safely, but my two 30 second flights were anything but under control and enjoyable! Maybe a good RC pilot could tame this thing??? I think that the Flymentor isn’t accurate enough for this type of application. It basically wants to keep the main shaft vertical and makes fairly crude adjustments to do that. Anyway, with a proper flybarless controller, this would probably be great.

So I have for sale an all metal five (5) blade head, complete with swash, linkages and main shaft. Also included are the servo linkages. The swash sits lower than the T-rex swash, so I made up a set of shorter links. Drop the shaft in, install the drive gear bolt and linkages and you’re ready to fly! Because of the higher reactionary torque from the multiple blades, I used the slightly larger tail rotor blades from a 450 Pro. That worked fine for rudder and gyro performance. Standard tail blades might work too, but I thought that I could keep the head speed down with the larger tail rotor.

Also included are six (6) matched and balanced fiberglass 325 mm blades. Head and blades are in new condition. They have been installed and spun for about 5 minutes to set up tracking and my brief hovers.

The fiberglass fuselage is by HeliArtist. 450 V2 Hughes model 500 . Yellow with red detailing and a blue tail. It includes the wide stance landing gear. Your T-rex 450 mounts inside without its gear.
* Body Length: 590mm * Body Width: 140mm * Body Height: 245mm * Weight: 349g
The fuselage is fully assembled except for the tail horizontal and vertical stabilizer assembly.
Front windshield is smoked plastic, sides are open for ventilation.
Fuselage is brand new – never installed.

$165 INCLUDING SHIPPING within Canada
or $140 to pick up in Vancouver area
