Forgot about the Moki's They would also be very nice. I just love all the machining on the roto. Beautiful to look at!

Kevin, the Roto engines do have exquisite machining work on them.

I owned a Roto 35FS a little while back and found it to be extremely heavy for it's size. likely in line with the rest of the industries 4 strokes. Kolm engines are very heavy as well.

I never did run mine (sold it) because I could really never find a suitable airplane for it. Everything I read about them was they were not very powerful. I believe a 22/10@5300 and about 16 lbs thrust...Be interesting to see how it performs on your Cub. They are beautiful engines indeed.

Be interesting to hear how their 170 quad turns out. Wonder if one man will be able to lift it!!

Jack... Speaking of heavy....
My Moki150 is insanely heavy also and considering the displacement, is just slightly more thrust than a DA100L.

The sound and noise is such a treat though!!!! Hopefully one day the model 4-strokes will match performance to a 2-stroker yes:

Can't see how.

While yes 4 strokes have the torque they just can't match the same RPMS.

Same reason you will NEVER see a diesel INDY 500 car as a contender.

Why would a 4 stroke need the same rpm when it can turn a bigger and coarser pitched prop?

Aren't 99% of diesel engines and Indy engines both four stroke?

Or were you talking 2 stroke diesel?
