New toy in the shop - engine related of course!

Well, I just took delivery of my latest "toy", a 1 1/2 hp mill/drill from busy bee tools. It was something I have been looking at for a year now, and decided my projects warrented a larger mill than what I had currently (a Bridgeport M head on a home made stand with an Enco X-Y table)

Here is a pic and another showing my small area of my wood working shop that I have dedicated to engine building and repair. My lathe and home made mill on the right and the new mill/drill on the left (the green thing).

I am just about ready to break it in, have about 15 diesel conversion heads to make up for various people... then I start on another old time engine reproduction!

Woohoo! What a hobby..

Not all the toys JIm... but enough to get me into some trouble..

I am still deciding how to tackle the crank in my 66cc twin, needs to be totally redone I think as its been welded twice and I dont think a 3rd time will hold any better than the first two... that will wait untill I can decide exactly how I want to do it.

what I need now is a heat treating oven... know anyone who has one for cheap??

Can anyone ever have ALL the toys?

Some folks do work harder at it than others though

It's lovely to have "all the toys" but to have the skill and knowledge to be able to use them; THAT'S what I would consider really sweet!

Congrats Andrew!

I'm envious.

Do you have plans for your old mill?
