The 2013 Great Hobbies & IMAC give away plane is finished

Financially as many of you know it was a rough year for me last year so it took me a while to gather all my required parts to get this plane flight worthy. Last fall after over it for a few weeks and letting it sink in, I finally stopped saying "Man that's a big plane" every time I went down stairs. Finally Saturday it made it's maiden flight thank you Don for doing this for me. I miss calculated something because it was quite tail heavy and after adding 3oz to the nose and retesting it Sunday it is still a little tail heavy. After some dialing it in and tweaking some settings I got up the nerve to fly it and to this date THAT IS THE SMOOTHEST PLANE I HAVE EVER FLOWN!!!! Just ask Don Rick and Cliff I was doing the happy dance all over the field, well maybe not all over the field but inside I was. I am looking forward to finishing up the tweaks and getting ready for a few IMAC events this summer, if I don't score better this year at NOIC there is definitely something wrong with this pilot (I was down near the bottom of eight). I am so exited!!!!!
Here's it is Saturday after it's maiden.

Congratulations Dave! Your new plane looks great. What engine and exhaust have you installed in it?

It came with a DLA 56 and I installed a MTW 75 canister for the exhaust.

We were concerned when it was going up. It looks close but it's quite a ways back, once just after it was put up one of the club members flew around it, it was a long flight. When you stand on the side road and watch how far guys are flying, they are about 3/4 of the way there. When I fly, I fly big and Don is always telling me to fly closer , I'll never make the field if the engine dies......what, that never happens.
