AMD BAe Hawk turbax conversion

All parts have now arrived and the winter project can begin. On Monday, the Scorpion kit (HK-4035-800kv) arrived from Taiwan and the GensAce batteries from Hobby Partz . The Turbax fan with k&b 45 came a couple of weeks ago from a western seller on RCC. On Tuesday, I picked up the Hawk from my CBI post box. That was some big box !!

The fan needs to be cleaned up a bit and i think the holes should be filled. New brackets are clearly in order.

Re: AMD BAe Hawk turbax conversion

Nice project- she's a beaut! I've bought batteries from Hobbypartz in the past but thought they currently can't/won't ship them to Canada?

Re: AMD BAe Hawk turbax conversion

Nice project.

Are you planning 12S?
Which hawk are you putting it in?

Re: AMD BAe Hawk turbax conversion

Tom , I have bought a few times from Hobby Partz and have had no problem with shipping. I bought these on the 20% off Black Friday special which more than paid for shipping. I would like to purchase from RotorQuest but they didn't have the size I want.

Eric , this is the AMD BAe Hawk as sold by JHH. This is the fan and motor from the same model. There is a bit of a resurgence of the old nitro fans units refitted with the scorpion conversion. Yes, 12S.

cheers
john

Thanks for the info John. How were the batteries shipped?
Please keep posting as you build your Hawk.
