Smithers/Houston BC Rc Airshow
I am posting this in the 'Jets' forum at the request of one of the gentlemen from Smithers, BC that is organizing a Funfly for June 16 to June 21st.
They are planning an RC Airshow open to the general public on June 19th. This is not a 'jet only' event, but they are hoping to have some 'jet folks' make it to the event and to do some demo flights for the 'air show' portion of the event as well. I am hoping to make the trip but a few more jets would be nice if possible. These folks a a great group of guys and gals, it will be a well organized event. Location of the event itself will be at the Houston BC airport. Please contact Ted Dean at tdean@bulkley.net for more information. Thanks...Ron Last edited by reo; 12-11-2009 at 06:51 PM. |

Hmmmm...never been past Prince George. Flying dawn to dusk would probably have an entire different meaing up there that time of year!

Re: Smithers/Houston BC Rc Airshow
O.K. I could be game...so is the event being held at the airport all five days, or just the 19th ? If it looks like we could fly off of pavement for more than a day I'll go.

Re: Smithers/Houston BC Rc Airshow
EDIT:.....got the info right from the horse's mouth, so to speak. The event in its' entirety will take place at the Houston airport from the 16 - 21st of June (Father's day weekend).
Last I heard that there will be dry RV parking available. Ron Last edited by reo; 12-11-2009 at 08:29 PM. |

Re: Smithers/Houston BC Rc Airshow
Hi Guys,
The wind is usually at a minimum but it can be a little gusty. The camping is a dry campground but there is a couple of motels and BnB's in Houston that is only about 10mins away from the airport. You can click on the link for the event listing on MAAC http://www.maac.ca/events/event_details.php?eid=2004 Hope to see you guys there. Geoff
