i lost my idle

Hi all i have month old hpi mt 2 with the 3.0 motor

broken in just about a gallon of fuel through it i was running it last weekend
all was fine went for about 4 tanks of fun it ran great .

After the run drained the fuel put in after run oil and went home
now this saturday it was hard to start would not hold a idle or as soon as hit i
the brake it would stall . I have not touched any setting tried a new glow
plug and new fuel same thing what gives and its hard like hell to get it to start. the only way it will idle is very fast were it rolls on its own Any ideas ?? thanks Larry in pierrefonds quebec

sounds like you got dirt in the carb.by the sounds of it ,the low speed circuit is what is probably dirty.try removing the high speed needle and try to flush out any debris in the carb.if this don,t help,you may need to remove the carb from the engine and do a complete cleaning of the carb.hope this helps.

Thanks for your help could i just blow compressed air from a can of dust off

in to the fuel line inlet at the carb i would like to avoid taking out the screws

as i had a job to get it set up newbie here . Larry

Check the spring on the clutch. If its broken it will not idle.

Thanks guy"s i do have a broken clutch spring and my local hobby shop has them in stock . Now why did that spring break or as they say #@^ happens

They are a very weak spring. Buy a extra one and it will never break again

Yup clutch springs seem to go often in this kit.

I think i have replaced the one on my little brothers now about 8 times in the last 3 months. Not sure if its because he has a tendency of running it on open road wide open all the time. lol

Like i tried to explain to him, the MT02 is a off road truck its meant to run in loose footings, running it with slicks on road all the time puts a lot more strain on everything.
