Got them from Thunderbolt but thanks anyway.
Take a look at the bottom of the cowl. Do you think I cut the opening big enough?

Re: Peak Models Edge 540

Personally I may cut it slightly bigger, or if this is a new engine break it in with the cowling off, as it will run hotter when new than broke in.

Re: Peak Models Edge 540

I checked the CG to make sure and WOW.

Moving engine forward for a total distance of 6mm moved the CG 17mm of the target.
Good news is I can now move the batteries out of the engine box to more accessible location in the fuse.

Re: Peak Models Edge 540

I hope that this was the final cut on cowl.
That little nipple was just wasting most of the air flow by redirecting it to the outside of the cowl.
Some say it looked good in the picture but I plan to fly it as well.

Re: Peak Models Edge 540

I hope to run it up later on today or tomorrow and fly it on the weekend ( weather permitting).

Re: Peak Models Edge 540

Today the wheels got off the ground. Mixed feelings though. I’ll have to look at the balance again.
The funny part is there were 3 of us flying it and we got 3 different opinions.
1. Nose heavy :
2. Tail heavy :
3. Confused
I think I’ll wait for calmer weather before making any changes as
it was quite gusty today making it harder to draw conclusions.
