Dennis,
Yes the guys at the the Flying Griffins warned me about that fact. They stencilled the following on the front of each one: DO NOT SIT HERE! You know like "NO STEP" on full scale aircraft.

We have one at our club field also..
Only thing I don;t like is people starting there airplanes on them Sit there all day and watch.. scare the living doggy do do out of you RB

Hey Ron.....Big Jim and the Twins????? You got one of those special mirrors that magnify things?? LOL
We have benches and a shelter at our club. I can't imagine why anyone would feel the need to sit on an inspection stand in the first place. Perhaps a safety announcement could be made at the meetings warrning folks NOT to do this IF it becomes a problem? Giving the benefit of the doubt, I am sure common sense will prevail!

uummm getting back on track for a second
These aren't just inspection stands. They are also used for starting the plane. Some folks risk falling into the prop if they are kneeling so it allows the opportunity to start the plane while standing and, in theory anyway, less risk (though it is a different risk) Bob
