Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West
All of the best engine guys I know are on this thread so I need to ask you a real question (as opposed to the B.S. that normally passes as 'topics' around here) LOL.
I'm swapping a DA200L into the big Dalton (in place of a cranky DLE222). The mounting pattern is exactly the same and overall this is an easy swap. I just discovered a problem though: The prop bolt pattern is the same between the two engines but the DA uses 5mm bolts whereas the DLE uses 6mm bolts. My spinner backplate and the prop are obviously drilled for the 6mm bolts Question: can I install some brass bushings into the prop hub and the spinner backplate to make up the difference Any other suggestions? Thanks guys.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West
I agree with Brad!!! I drill all my props to 6mm bolts even though many of mine use 5mm.... allows us to swap props easier without worrying about hole size and which motor has which config.
The 5mm bolts inside 6mm holes is fine. Don't waste your time with bushings. But Gordon... the biggest advantage... it's lighter Cheers Trev |

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West
Gordon, I have the same issue going from my GP176 drilled props (6mm). To my ZDZ 160 (5mm). To which I pabricated only 3 bushings for alternate bolt holes. This configuration worked just fine.
But it is nice to know what the majority are doing. And, I may drop the bushings. At this point it makes me feel better. I do like Bradleys explanation. -Dale- 100% free webcam site! | Awesome chicks and it is absolutely free! | Watch free live sex cam - easy as 1-2-3
