Re: Importing radio equipment directly from Japan?
There is always this searchable list ...
https://sms-sgs.ic.gc.ca/equipmentSe...n=e1s1&lang=en ... but get ready NOT to find your high priced equipment there. A very slow search for a major brand showed that only two of their products since 2008 had been approved. Of course, it can be that the transmission module has not changed and so despite the brand new equipment the actual RF section has not changed. BTW ... here is the "Portal": https://sms-sgs.ic.gc.ca/search/radi...execution=e1s4 and here is the original connector to the list: http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/ceb-bhs...h_tt00082.html Now ... let's check out our phones. Enjoy!

Re: Importing radio equipment directly from Japan?
Email the seller and ask for a picture of the FCC/IC label on the back of the transmitter and if the radio uses a plug in module it should be on that. Again the FCc ( with a little c inside a big C) doesn't cut it as the Asians are trying to use that.as it must have the approval number also. Even though a radio model number may be on the list does not mean it is good to use in NA as ie Japans or China's radios being exported may not meet NA specs. This also includes receivers with telemetry as that is, in effect, a transmitter within a receiver.
Checked my Nokia cell phone and it has the FCC approval number ( actually letters) |

Gord ; Check your orange transmitter again and see what the FCC and IC approval numbers are. I looked at an Orange one last month and nothing. |
