HI Jack;

I have not had a biplane in the air for a while, plus the checker theme is what I wanted. Our field is under snow --- May need to go to the Trout Farm (Camrose area) for 1st flight . No work on the plane the last 2 days ---- in Red Deer doing the Baby Sitting thing, I'm am O.K. with that , Grand Childern are great

Re: **New** 50cc Checkmate from Aero-Works

Findly got some time on biplane again.

Worked on the gear, it comes in 2 parts and painted to match. Where the gear is mounted , I put in a carbin fiber plate. I like to reinforce this area. I find on ARF's the gear area is some times weak I am on a grass field which is a little rough, so this should help stiffen this area up.

Re: **New** 50cc Checkmate from Aero-Works

When I got home today , my D.A.50 had been delivered to my door . ( good service from Geart Hobbies)

I had to add to the extensions to get my spaceing for the cowl.

You can now see why I went with the muffler that A/W will supply for the D.A.-50. The two out let's tuck up under very nice. No big hole's for the exhaust in the cowl.

Next thing to do, is install the throttle servo and linkage to the motor . To save weight --- no choke servo --- will work choke manually.

Ray wow that pipe looks cool I may just have to get one . fits nice and clean, are there some holes or a big enough opening in the bottom of the cowl to help with air flow ,remember it should be around 3:1 . looking great so far. Roger

Hi Again Roger;

Yes it is a nice muffler, more like a exhaust diverter through, as there is nothing inside of it. I think it's going to be loud Biplanes are loud through ,arn't they !!! Noise at our field is no problem .

I do know about 3:1 on the air thing . The head will be showing through the bottom of cowl, and there will be some area under cowl that is removed to let air exit. There is also a dummy radial (plastic) that fits in back of cowl, and then you cut the area out that is in front of the cylinder head for air intake. ( picture is from the CD build )

When I do the cowl , I will have pictures to show what it looks like. I think the cooling will be fine.

I can hear it from here Ray.

It sounds really RED.
(80km as the crow fly's)

Make sure you get a photo of you, it and your truck together. People will understand how you like red.

It does look really good Ray. We would love to have you out to the Trout Farm flying it with us.
