Orbit PocketLadder Question

I just had an upgrade done and there are new things in the menu.
Does anyone know what these are?

LiFP
NiXx

Please don't post a guess, I can do that. If you have a manual that explains what these are, including voltages, I would realy like to know.
Thanks,
Joe

Orbit

I have one of these, but have never upgraded it. Do you mean you have downloaded a newer version of software into the unit? What is the version #? Thanks.

I had to send it in for repair and the upgrade was done at that time.
You should be able to upgrade from SIO if you have the computer link.
I'll check the version and post it tonight.

Is it correct of me to assume that the menu is in German and you don't read German?

You'll have to hold it up to the monitor for me to read it.

NiXx is NiCd and NiMh. (Xx designates variables I've seen this on other chargers before, at least in the specs)

The LiFP, is weird though. I know it doesn't mean Lithium Fully Puffed

I wonder if it's a typo.

Orbit

The software version I have is 1.61. I bought it last fall & has worked fine for me. Sorry I can't help. You've likely been on the company website?

I have the manual for V1.61 because that's what it had when I bought it.
I was on the Orbit website and downloaded the manual. The new manual shows extra voltage settings in the settup menu. LiFp can be adjusted around 3.6V and NiXx adjusted around 1.2V.

LiFp looks like the new 123 cells, but does it use the Lipo algorith?(CC & CV))

NiXx looks like Nihm/Nicad, but does it use a peak algorithm?

Getting closer, but I still need just a bit more info.

Those Germans can charge anything!

A particularly important element for activating Li-ion batteries is the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). Liquid electrolytes in Li-ion batteries consist of solid lithium-salt electrolytes, such as LiPF6, LiBF4, or LiClO4, and organic solvents, such as ether.

Great info on batteries at Wikipedia, but nothing specific to the Orbit charger.
Thanks anyway.
I may have to plug it in and babysit it to see what it does.
