useful flight times

Hi
I have gotten my hands on a triton computerized charger, discharger cycler. There are some areas though, that I either don't understand or would just appreciate some feed back on.

The instructions state that if you discharge a fully charged NiCd battery pack at a rate of .2 to .3A and set the cut off voltage at 1.1v X the number of cells in your pack the discharge time will give you the useful flight time when testing the transmitter or the receiver. Does any one have any experience with this? If so is it a reliable method?

When it is talking about discharging NiCd battery packs it states that you should use a cut off voltage of 0.9v X the number of cells in the pack. It attaches a note at the end of the paragraph stating that you shouldn't discharge a transmitter or receiver pack to less than a cut off voltage of 1.1v X the number of cells in the pack (it is not talking about calculating flight time in this section). I don't understand why there would be any difference. Can anybody explain this or perhaps I am not understanding the instructions properly.

I have read elsewhere that a battery pack should be discarded once it cannot deliver at least 70% of its rated capacity. Is this a good number?

thanks
