Futabe does not make the Spectrum radioi. It is made by Spectrum (JR Radio). The Spectrum receiver will not respond to a Futaba transmitter.

I believe that the Parkzone BNF is for the JR/Spektrum system only, so that would not work. Futaba is not compatable with that aircraft in the BNF configuration.

Re: futaba spektrum DSM2 modual in a hitec tx

I think the OP is asking if he can use the Spektrum DSM2 module for a Futaba to convert his Hitec Optic 6 radio.

Although I do not have this radio, others have successfully used the Spektrum Futaba module in their Optic 6. Try a google search for "spektrum module in a hitec optic 6"... lots of info on it.

Re: futaba spektrum DSM2 modual in a hitec tx

Spektrum makes a DSM2 module for Futaba modular radios called a DM8. It is claimed to be compatible with all DSM receivers.

I've used my DM8 in a 8U, 9C and a 9Z and ALL work PERFECTLY with my Parkzone Mustang BNF.

I also use a Hitec Spectra 72 Mhz synth module (RCD4400) in my 8u and 9C (doesn't work in a 9Z because channel selection is in the Tx programming) and it works flawlessly with all of my Hitec, GWS, Eflite and Futaba receivers except one; a Futaba Synth Receiver.

So I think there's a pretty good chance that a Hitec Tx signal-to-module is pretty much the same as Futaba.

Just my opinion, of course.

Yes it does work, Spektrum's first adverts showed the module in an Optic radio instead of the Futaba. Those adds pulled probably because many users found the Optic had many more features than any other TX in it's class, especially Spektrum.
Note
1. Order of channels: - Using Spektrum module in a Hitec Optic 6
2. Optic 6 is shift selectable - make sure it is set to Negative shift
3. Hitec Optic Sport 6-Channel Manuals, Tutorial & Comparison Charts may also assist.
4. Many local buyers of BNF models now trade off the Spektrum RX and use the better, telemetry equipped Hitec Spectra Pro and Optima RX Combo;
Aurora A9, Spectra Pro & Optima - FAQ & Undocumented Features - Mixes, Setups, Tips. {Individual Links often updated}
Spectra 2.4/Optima 6 or 7 Combo - check specials available, some combos with 2nd rx free.
