Hi Ken,

Your Toni looks great !
How can it fly without an engine?
I'm kidding of course, electrics should open up more 'noise sensitive' fields to Races, which is a good thing.

I'm in for getting Pylon Racing going again in Ontario. I'll help with any of the flagging/timing/etc. details. The brewery I work at will gladly donate prizes to a cool event like Pylon Racing.

I've only been to one Race. WOW ! An amazing amount of fun/excitement!

Take care,
Have fun,

Re: Electric F1 LiL Toni Pylon Racer

Dave Good to here from you and thanks for the comments and your offers to help, we need more people like yourself to be active in this hobby in all events.
Electric pylon should be a great event and could be raced at larger fields and not any noise. The planes all look great and fly very well.
As for the racing the course it is only 380' long and 100' wide at pylon 2 and 3, the electrics will not be as fast the quickie 500 planes powered with a sport .40 and a stock muffler.
I really think this could be a fun event, all is needed is more kits and ARFs to be available. At the present we only have the Toni and the Tom Cat kits, as well as the Eflite Pogo ARF.
More designs are in the works and ARF's should be available in 2011.
Dave that should give you lots of time to get one built.

Ken

Re: Electric F1 LiL Toni Pylon Racer

Had a couple test flights on the Toni this week, everything went well, just a few kicks of right and down. Its great little electric to fly, looks good, fast and grooves really well in the turns. Even did a few rolls and loops, landings where flat and a little fast. No chance of landing to slow and stalling.
Flew the Efllite Pogo as well, both airplane fly the same, but put an Eflite 15 motor on and you will have a greart sport flyer.
If you want to get the adrenline flowing try one of these electrics.

Re: Electric F1 LiL Toni Pylon Racer

I do, but i custom made bigger pizza cutter wheels, also there is no tail wheel on my q-5oo, so its full throttle into the wind and let go of her and pull up to get it off the ground asap.

Yes I fly the F1 electrics off grass, but has to be short, wheels are 2 1/4" and wheel pants.
All of my electrics, I fly off grass and all have wheels pants, Extra 300, 260 and the Slick 42.
Nitro planes as well.

FYI,

On the CPPRA (Canadian Prairie Pylon Racing Associations) web site there are links to some electric pylon racing recently held in Calgary.
