Just a question on the servos , are they digital ? If not and if you have never used them :: once used you would never go back to analogues. Flaps, steering and rudder will work but definitely ailerons and elevators. Keeps trimming to a minimum . The twin elevator setup was done well into my build meaning it was almost ready for glassing. As you can see with the flaps that was also an afterthought with the twin ply horns. My build took almost 10 years to complete due to planing and changes. Once changes are made , prime and paint, you would never know ; except the builder. With more direct servo to control horn coupling you won't have the continual trimming as that long metal pushrod keeps expanding and contracting with the temperature changes.
Is she going with the original cowl or have you replaced it with a glass one ?

I've yet to try digital servos, flying everything from small electrics, to 1/3rd scale. To date, knock on wood, I've never had an issue with a servo either! We have the ARF glass cowl for it, pretty much all the accessory parts you can get for the ARF, she's got.

Not sure how she was planning on mounting the glass cowl but that was a good idea to get one. If you want I can PM you how I mounted mine without using screws thru the outside. Nothing wrong with analogue servos if they have enough power but the centering of digitals is something again. At least the ones I use. Plan to switch my radio receiver over to my Jeti radio system which has auto trimming and man is that cool plus add the floats.

Cowl is already mounted. Engine, fuel system, wiring, etc is all done, so it's all the glassing, priming, and prepping for paint now. Oh, and the hundreds of corrugated bits to add to the flaps, elevators and ailerons. That will keep her busy for a few days, while I work on my Dave Platt Spitfire!

Leeann got another side of wing glassed, so she's 3/4 done that. I've been cutting and gluing the ridiculous number of plastic corrugated parts for the elevators, and gluing those on. 3/4 done that, hope to finish that tonight, then trim them all, and get a coat of primer on it.

I haven't seen any updates & am just starting the build of one which will be E powered. Not sure where I'll put the batteries but will most likely use an E-Flite power 90.

She's been busy over the holidays, helping me with the full sized Hurricane build, and restoration on a Beech Expeditor. She also makes Christmas ornaments, so the poor Cessna hasn't progressed for a bit. If you're doing the scale interior, then battery placement will be interesting, of course the fuel tank area would be ideal.

Mine went in the place of the fuel tank. Had the windshield removable to reach in for the battery and external plug to complete battery circuit from behind prop after change-out.

AFR version has bottom hatch and two smaller batteries in series that fit under the shelf where tank would go. That way you can leave interior in place and change batteries from underneath. My second-hand bird had interior that was pretty rough to I never got around to fixing it up to re-install so battery on tank shelf was no problem.

If I had it to do over again I would make the bottom hatch like the ARF.

Manual download could give you some ideas but if you want some detailed pics of hatch I can shoot a few of the ARF that I am doing now.

As David did on the battery hatch : also copied th idea.... will try and find the link o how the gear mounting was reinforced a bit.

The link is were I started into it , way back. as David says the ARF manual download gives some good ideas on a hatch for the kit build. That's where I got mine. Also with the kit I already have hard points build into the floats for float mounts.
