Question for Jim McIntyre.... I just had a look at your web site.

The Tigermoth you have pictured on your site is just beautiful. This aircraft has always been one of my first loves......
Is it built from the Clark Kit ?? And is the motor you mention the gasser that is now offered through Clark for his kit?

Being about 5 minutes away from C.W.H. in Hamilton and knowing that there is one hangered there. Maybe it's time for me to take the plunge......... ....In fact, the fellow that flys the DH8 for CWH lives just down the street........

Dr Nino Campana ,one of the North,s premier builders did a version of the Tiger from the Clark kit a few years back.It was done to a "T" in RCAF colors, and complete with the Canadian green house. It is still flying in this area and is a joy to see in the air.It flys in a very scale like manner so dont expect speed or aerobatic ability the real one didnt have.
I have nothing against the Clark engine, but if it was me I would go with one of the modern electronic ignition gassers, most probably a rear intake like the ZDZ keeping that narrow cowl in mind, and then talk to Jim Bisson about a muffler to fit the application.
Clark Ind is located about 5min.from my dear old mums home, and I have been at Clark more than once drooling over some of his stuff.....

Hi Brian,

Thanks. Good eyes, yes it's the Clarke kit, no the engine was built locally by Ron Chapman, Al Cordy And Eric Fuchs.

The Clarke kit is what I call a " '70s scale" kit (IOW would have been competitive in the 1970's) and would take quite a lot of work to make competitive. Some liberty is taken, especially in wing attachment to simplify the design. If I were going to build one to compete with, I'd probably scratch build of start with the Plair or Proctor kits.

That said, she is a tame/majestic flyer and is not very aerobatic but, that's not what this plane is all about. Just a pure joy to fly and looks great in the air.

If you care to check the gallery, I put up a short video of the maiden flight some time ago.

Hope this helps
