Quanum FPV Monitor/Goggles Kit for $30
Just ordered one of these to use for passengers. The video review looks pretty good and it's hard to beat the price. I'll post my own review whenever I get them.
I'm really curious to see how those different lenses work. It looks like there's a lot of room to adjust screen distance. Link: Quanum DIY FPV Goggle Set with Monitor (KIT) Last edited by twistedge; 06-11-2014 at 10:25 AM. |

Not everyone who wants to try FPV has 300+$ just for a pair of goggles. This is a more economical option for the newcomer who wants to try and does not have 1000's of $ to throw into the hobby

Re: Quanum FPV Monitor/Goggles Kit for $30
Finally got a change to play with these... and it's a steal at $40 shipped to your door.
I have some work to do to make them wearable, but the screen looks good. I made a short video to demonstrate the display from my Minion. It actually looks better than this in real life (likely just a sync issue between screen refresh and camera rates).
As a side note, I hooked these up to the WiiU and the image was surprisingly clear (though definitely not HD). I look forward to flying with them whenever the winds stop blowing... |

Looks good, Ed. How does it feel with is strapped to your head? Or are you just rest it on a tripod stand and look in?

Re: Quanum FPV Monitor/Goggles Kit for $30
Bought this set as well, it's great for a first-time FPV experience! I'd recommend getting this before a set of Fatsharks, just so you get an idea of what it's like for only $40 all-in..
Even if you do move up to a proper set, this is a great set for "passengers". Did make a few mods, though.. I ended up having to strap the monitor to the back end of the goggles instead of in the slots, as it seemed too close to focus comfortable. The OSD looks great on the given monitor, no issues there, but I've bought a cheap 5" 800x480 monitor to upgrade the size and resolution a bit. Also soldered my own connectors to the TV (JST and servo plug), did the same to the Receiver to lighten the bulk of the factory wires. Made a loop in the headstrap to fit a 2s 1000mah pack, lasts longer than all of my quad's battery packs.
