What airframe for my Saito 180??

Hi Guys.... I am currently looking for an airframe to put my Saito 180 into. I fly mainly sport with vague attempts at 3D

I have been looking at these 3 possibilities. The price is definately good on the Seagull, but I keep looking at the SlipStream offerings and start to drool.

Has anyone owned or flown any of these or have any advice or opinions on the 3 models listed??

Thanks
Curt

Seagull Yak 54 90... I know it is rated for a 125 4st, but with the 180 in it....wow

A tanker! I know a guy that have the Seagull extra 260 with a DLE30 and it's a nice plane. Price is descent! A good one cheap would be the Peakmodel Yak55

You can have it without engine if you send them an email.

How about the Funtana 125? I haven't flown one but some experienced guys at the club recommend them as a good step up.

As you know I havn't personally seen any of them fly but have viewed the vidios on You Tube and researched them on other forums, just like you have. Likely the best frame for your mill would be the Slip Stream planes. You could fit the .180 onto the Yak, after all you had a .75 on the Tango, but will you be happy with it?
I think you have already made up your mind so forget the price differance and buy the Slip Stream.
I suggest the MXS. That is one nice plane.

Re: What airframe for my Saito 180??

I've seen the MXS fly in person and it really does fly well. The guy I know that has it doesn't do a lot of 3D but the precision maneuvers looked really crisp. Point rolls and the lot looked very sharp.

From what I've been told by others, the larger one flies extremely well also.

I have browsed the Peak Models site and I really like the looks of the blue Yak 54, not a fan of the looks of the Yak 55. I find their site a real pain to surf around on! But, they do have free shipping!

Yes, I know Trav.... I drool when I see the Slipstream planes. I prefer the looks of the MXS over the Sbach, but the Sbach is very well designed.... recessed wing pockets in the fuse and hidden attachment points for the cowl.

Still researching the Seagull Yak, sharp looking... guys are flying them with 26cc gassers, I would think they would be a flying brick with that much weight in the front!

Lots of great choices!

Ha ha..good one Dean. I loved the AgWagon, it flew fantastic and looked even better, but was not getting used enough due to its' size.

So, I sold it and I am looking for an airframe that will get used more that I can put all the gear from the AgWagon into.

Lots of good choices out there. I will decide in the New Year as to what I will be getting, but for now, I am still just seeing what is out there that will support the gear that I already have to put into it!

Re: What airframe for my Saito 180??

Ive seen at least 4 guys flying the SlipStream Sbach. They all say its one of the best flying planes in their fleet. Im not really into 3D planes myself, but this one really looks nice to me.
