PICS - Onslaught over Ontario, 08-11-23
Hey All, the pics are off the press for Onslaught over Ontario. I haven't cropped or adjusted any of these, they are just the raw dump from the camera. These are 20 of the best.
I took over 850 photos and threw about 200 of them out. People who asked me for a DVD of the photos can PM me their address, and I'll pop one in the mail (as soon as I get to the store and pick more up!). Cheers! Ben Need a runway! A smooth landing! (really, this was though) Poetry in motion: A clean cut!

Getting WWII going:
Raining parts! (missed this midair, D'OH!) The next sequence is of the best midair of the day. I was pretty disappointed to see that these weren't in focus, but after a full day on the shutter, my focus fingers were tired! Before... Smack!

Never having done that kind of thing, are the ribbons used so it is easier to find the planes/parts???
Great pictures, looks like a lot of fun. |

Ben:
Nice photos. What type of camera equipment are you using? Some of the pics show considerable carnage - ouch. Thanks for sharing. Peter

Thanks everyone for the great feedback!

The ribbons are actually a light paper, and the point of 'combat' is to get behind your opponent and cut his streamer with your prop or your wing, simulating a dogfight. Quote:
I used a Nikon D50 with a 70-300mm lens for most of those shots. Others I used my 18-70mm. I'm very happy with my D50 and find that it performs very well for a low-end setup. I was pretty disappointed to see that the focus was out on those midair pics, but I'm glad I cought them! If they were clearer I'd crop them to focus in on the action. Cheers, Ben
