Rudder Servo
Hey guys...
Do you experienced 100cc types figure a 1 lone H7954 could do my rudder on a 35% with pull/pull? I'm going to run 7.4v UNregulated lions, the 7954's are rated at 400oz/" torque. And while we're on the topic of servos, has anyone had these so called "light load jitters" as Hitec's service bulletin mentions? I know there have been a lot of reports of problems with the 7950's, just wondering if anyone has feedback on the 7954's? I tell ya from the videos I've seen of FG with these servos moving abruptly, I think "jitters" is an understatement. It's too bad cause I was hoping to just get a 7950 on the rudder and be done with it. Would anyone have any other servo suggestion (I'm not brand rigid like scaleguy.....NOT) : Seriously though, Futaba, JR.....talk to me goose. Thanks, Eric |

Re: Rudder Servo
I prefer a pair of servos in the tail on a push/pull set up
You can easily get away with a couple of less expensive servos and have a bit of redundancy built in rather then have one single on a pull pull arrangent.

Re: Rudder Servo
I'm doing a single 7950 on my rudder with the Durant Direct drive setup. Apparently there is an easy fix for the jittering issue the 7950 has, so I'm going to give it a shot.

Re: Rudder Servo
I have to look it up again, but I believe it's something to do with smoothing the signal out, possibly with a resistor. One of the guys on here did the fix on his 50cc SBach rudder.

Re: Rudder Servo
now I'm thinking maybe a JR 8911 on the rudder, strong and fast. I'll go 7955's on everything else.

Re: Rudder Servo
How about the Hitec 7980 ??
As much or more torque than the JR and less cost. I am going to use a single 7980 on my Edge Never pay again for live sex! | Hot girls doing naughty stuff for free! | Chat for free!

Re: Rudder Servo
Point well taken...only thing is the 7980 seems quite slow and I'm concearned that it will drive me nuts...I probably wouldn't notice it flying with my skill level, but on the ground you wouldn't get that speedy flt control check bling

Re: Rudder Servo
JR 8711 has 403 oz torque 6 volt .15 sec metal gear
hitec 7980 coreless digital but with titanium gears probly centre better . dont know the speed on this one hitec 7954 digital coreless metal gear 403 oz torque $ 55.oo less than the 7980 . 7.4 volt .12 sec Any one of these would do the job all depends on how much cashola you want to spend |
