Any (GTA/Ontario) RC Clubs to both race and socialize?

Hi everyone,

greetings from Toronto, my name is Francesco, I am an Italian engineer living here...

I have enjoyed RC racing for many years in Europe, but over here I find it somewhat difficult to find clubs where there is a "club/family feeling", and RC enthusiasts can meet people sharing the same hobby AND engage in social activities (e.g. dinner/drinks after races), rather than just tracks/races where people show up, race and go away...

Any help finding nice places to race and socialize?

Cheers!

Francesco

What type of racing do you do?

There is 1/10 indoor off-road racing on carpet in Hamilton at SpeedWorld.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions, are these nice clubs to have some good fun with people there, as well as drive/race?

Thing is: I still have RC material, but I would have to buy the rest, thus I need tips on what classes are popular here
I greatly prefer outdoor tracks, and off-roar over on-road, but I raced pretty much everything ages ago, so I am prepared to pick up whatever it takes

Cheers!

Just about all tracks run 1/8 nitro and electric buggy and 1/8 nitro truggy. 2 and 4WD short course trucks are big as well. DORC in Bowmanville runs 1/8 nitro and electric buggy, 1/8 nitro and electric truggy, 2WD and 4WD short course trucks, and Extreme Truck (monster trucks, SC8s and Slayer Pros. If it wont fit with another class it's run here).

Excellent tips, thanks!

Once again, I have little preference for one class over another, instead I would give more preference to a friendly environment with people having a good time and willing to help other drivers, especially newcomers.

A few places I visited in the past were nice but I think most drivers took races a little too seriously, and that discouraged me from going back...
