Not sure if this is the correct location for this but here it goes. I am in the process of repairing an EPP 3D MX2 from hobby king. My question is, can I use microballons in P.M. Hansen foam cure glue?

Re: microballons in foam glues

You probably could do it. I assume you are trying to fill gaps or make fillets. If you are filling gaps, then gorilla glue is probably the better choice. I just mix mine on a piece of tin foil and give it a spritz of water. Use toothpicks if the area is small to apply.

Re: microballons in foam glues

I bought the plane used and it had been crashed which destroyed the nose cowl. I fabricated a new one out of laminated blocks of foam and want to glue it on but there is/was a gap between the cowl and the fuselage. Me being the perfectionist that I am didn't want clear glue visible from the side of the plane so I wanted to use microballoons to help fill the gap and blend in the repair a bit so it didn't stand out so much. Which I found out worked just fine.

Re: microballons in foam glues

What I would do us try to mix a small bit of glue and micro b and let set to see the result. Sometimes when foreign material is mixed in there could be a negative reaction with the glue causing a gooey mess fior example. Just my thoughts.
