Phoenix Sim
I found a site with this sim and would like to know if anybody has been using it. You can not purchase it here or the USA but just about anywhere else on the globe. The reason I am asking is because it is advertised as professional and one of the contributors to it is Curtis Youngblood. I downloaded the video from the UK site (95megs) and I was more than a bit impressed. This one looks like grass on the fields and more life like.
Thanks for any info. John

Re: Phoenix Sim
Its one of the best sim's out there for heli's. Just order it online and you will get it from the UK in 5 or 6 working days.

Re: Phoenix Sim
Go head and get it, it is one of the best on the market, Graphics are excellent, not as cartoony as Great planes G4.5, or as much a computer hog either ( I have both of them ). It use to be distributed in Canada, I bought mine in a Hobby Store in Toronto.

Re: Phoenix Sim
Thanks for the comments. I was not sure about it but I have the demo and it is quite impressive especially the Heli demo.
John The cost is also not out of line from the web site. $129 US

Re: Phoenix Sim
Great sim. I have Realflight G4.5, had reflex and I have Phoenix, I think Phoenix and Refelex feel more realistic than Realflight but they all have features I like and dislike. G4.5 is the most convenient, Phoenix takes some time to set up just right but it rocks as a sim in my opinion. You will be happy just make sure your TX is compatible with their list of supported ones.
http://www.phoenix-sim.com/support.htm The current supported transmitter list is as follows: All JR MC/MX (no adaptor required) - ** MC-series requires "DSC Interface" Accessory ** Spektrum DX6/DX6i/DX7 (no adaptor required) - ** NOT new DX7 Special Edition "SE" version ** Spektrum DX5e (adaptor required) All Futaba (Futaba round or square adaptor required) Futaba FX-18 with 2.5mm stereo training port (FX-18 adaptor required) All Hitec (Hitec adaptor required) All Multiplex (Multiplex adaptor required) All Sanwa RD and RDS series (Sanwa adaptor required) E-sky (Mini-DIN adaptor required) Co-Pilot (Mini-DIN adaptor required) Blade CX-2 (no adaptor required) Art-tech 100B (no adaptor required) Art-tech 100C (Art-tech 100C adaptor required) Walkera 2401, 2601 (Using MINI-DIN adaptor supplied with transmitter) Walkera 2801 (adaptor required) Please note that the following transmitters are not supported: No USB controller devices/joysticks All Walkera except 2401, 2601 and 2801 (see above) |

Re: Phoenix Sim
Nev,
That was one of the first things I checked as I have a Futaba 9chp for heli's and a 12 channel Multiplex EVO for hooking up. I still can't get my Futaba setup on the FS one as the darn swash plate is all screwy. With this sim you diable it and the software does it for you. I thought I was doing pretty good setting things up but this one got me. John

Re: Phoenix Sim
Buy this sim if you like it, I have had it for 2 years now and am still using and loving it! I ordered it direct from UK and it was delivered in about 5 days, which was totally unexpected! I have used Realflight, Reflex XTR, and I prefer Phoenix hands down over the two. The advantages are that the physics are extremely realistic, it looks realistic, customer support is possibly one of the best i've seen so far for a product, as they even update the thing based on user inputs and comments, you can do a lot of stuff online with other users, and its been improved to operate faster and more stable online, and of course all updates and new models are free!!! 2.5 was just recently released in its beta phases with new fixes and upgrades almost daily and it looks and feels even more fantastic now, and teh detail is geting rather insane.... blade pitch for example is now animated in the sim!

Re: Phoenix Sim
I ordered it yesterday and this morning I got an email said it was on it's way Fed Ex. Scared the crap out of me until I remembered that it was them guy's in brown that where outrages half the time.
Will let you know what I think after I get it but if it is even close to the demo I know I am going to like it. Even the demo after I installed it let me know my settings could be improved. I was running 1024 x 768 on 60mhz and now I am running 75mhz. Also on the highest setting it runs great but I can not tell the differance between the lowest and highest. They all seem the same. Maybe my old eyes don't know any better now a days. John

Re: Phoenix Sim
I have been using the Phoenix Sim since it first came out about 4 years ago. I ordered mine from Tower Hobbies. I still can't get over how real it looks and feels.
You will love it Regards Curt
