Regular CA might be fine, I don't know, I used foam friendly so I didn't risk it haha. Seems to be sticking fine now, 10 flights since it came apart and that includes snaps, spins, and everything else I've thought of

Jeremy.
What do you mean 'land on grass'? What's that? Nothing but snow for as far as the eye can see over here in the center of the country.

Any video to share?

Re: Habu Reinforcement, a good idea!!!!

I couldn't resist after all the good things said about the Habu. I picked up the PNP version, from Hobby Wholesale. It went together very fast and is a complete kit. It was the easiest EDF I've put together so far. I did some power runs with two types of bats.

Turnigy 4s 3000 35c 910 watts peak down to about 850 at 59a peak down to 55a
Zippy flight max 4s 2650 40c 830watts peak down to 790 at 56a down to 54a

Both bats balance within the suggested c of g. With the 3000 bat the rtf weight is 1343g's, LG on

I'm hoping to get the maiden in this weekend.

Mine should be here this week. I ordered a spare battery from Horizon as well, but if its a lot of fun and 2 arent enough, I will get a few more from HobbyKing.

Re: Habu Reinforcement, a good idea!!!!

Got the maiden in today. I found a quiet paved side-road and did some taxi tests to get the nose wheel trimmed. It was a slight cross breeze so when I powered up it wanted to turn into the wind. I was getting close to the shoulder, so I pulled back and she jumped into the air. Just a bit of down elevator and right airleron to level it out. I just flew some paterns for 3 minutes and came in for a landing. The low rates on the elevator I found very sensitive and would pitch up easily. I bounced the landing and went around. The next landing was better but it still bounced on me with a left tip scrape. I'll add more expo(30% to start) and reduce the throw a bit. My balace point was 100mm from the LE. I'm used to flying off grass, which is more forgiving. When the snow is gone I'll try a hand launch without the gear. After the taxi runs and a 3min flight, I had 60% left on the 3000 4s bat. I flew at 3/4 throttle the whole time.

It flies where you point it, very stable. This going to be alot of fun. The kind of plane you can throw in the back and go. Parkzone has a real winner here, well thought out and complete. 900 watts on a stock setup

Looks like you guys are to late to have the first Mass launch of the Habu.

They just did 24 at the Florida Jets Ralley.

Re: Habu Reinforcement, a good idea!!!!

Hi Guys

Well, I got mine in the air today...actually four times. I got a couple of extra 3800 4S packs from great Hobbies to ad to the fun. WHAT A GREAT JET!!!!!!! Thanks for the info on the reinforcement Jeremy. I did that and its solid. I used a 1/2 strip of 2 oz fibreglass cloth and applied Slow Zap and then shot with accelerant. No problems with the foam. I flew it off of pavement. Accelerates and rotates great. On landing you can hold it off the nose for quite a way....looks cool. I found that 30% expo on ailerons and elevator worked perfectly. I also started with a half way measurement between the receommended low and high rates. This little puppy flys really well and is a great aid to anyone condidering getting into bigger jets. For the price it just can't be beat - one of best values I have seen in a long time.

Cheers
Dean W.

Re: Habu Reinforcement, a good idea!!!!

I've got about 34 flights on mine now, gotta be careful, getting a little to comfortable with it in the back of the shop, lots of trees to watch out for back there! The airplane flies so well it's easy to want to push it and push it and push it. But I don't want to break it, so time to be a little more careful haha!
Glad to hear you like it Dean, told ya it was great!
