Hi Jim,
It happens when the transmitter is shut off.
The receiver is JR R700, 7 channel, 72 mhz, FM slimline. Printed on it is also that it has the ABC & W interference protection system. Thats not the PCM your talking about is it ?

Try removing the failsafe from your radio gear altogether and then turn Tx and Rx on, ensure it is funtioning correctly and then turn off your Tx while leaving the receiver on. Note what the servos do, they move slightly for a nano second and then stop. If you turn the Rx off then back on with out turning the Tx on at all the servos will continue to move in the same direction a slight amount each time you turn the Rx on. What Jim is trying to explain is that the radio failsafe device responds a little differently to real or actual interference and that is different then a loss of radio signal, which is what happens when you turn off your Tx. True interference is another radio signal received by the receiver that causes confusion in the receiver. A loss of signal is not considered interference, it is just a loss of signal. Although this will also result in a crash if it happens during flight, the failsafe will not react the same way as it will to interference. However, your failsafe should still cause the throttle to return to idle or fully closed in both conditions. Your failsafe however will have no effect on your other servos, if they move it will be beyond or with out your failsafe causing/stopping it.

No, simply shutting the transmitter off will trigger a failsafe device but, it won't simulate an interference condition. The servos will move (slightly as you indicated) then remain in position unloess interference is encountered.

You can simulate interference by holding the transmitter too close to the reciever and swamping the receiver. You 'failsafed' servo should move to the failse position while the other servos perform the "dance of death".

Better yet, if you can find someone with a transmitter on the same frequency.... which is the situation you're really trying to address....
