I watched it a few times now.
Looks like things went wrong when the smoke was first turned on.
I wonder if the smoke pump motor generated too much EMI, and maybe the reciever(s) were too close to it and got hit with stray EMI.

Yeah I think that was B-29 number 4 or 5.. it's happened alot before!

I was at Mac Hodges' feild several years ago and got to see the B-29 up close and personal................ very nice. I'm sure the next one won't be to far away!

I have my doubts if this cost $75,000. Unless maybe he's counting $20.00 an hour for his personal labor.

If I'm not mistaken the whole thing is sheeted styrofoam, wings, tail, fuselage, , , everything.

What a shame, a beautifullly crafted plane.
Back to the drawing board as the saying goes.

This was back in 2007 at Top Gun and he put on a great show.
Unfortunatly a few months later a wing panel came off.
Certainly not something you want to see.

Re: rc B-29 in flat spin - pancakes into trees - video

Too bad for Mac.

I saw the other vid when his wing separated in the flat spin from a few years back- that was pretty sad too!

I thought the announcer was pretty prophetic wild the plane was in the maneuver " y'all know the b29 in a flat spin aint supposed to come out...."
and
"Uh-oh- this dont look good, folks, this dont look good at all..."

You know he says this 1000 times to get the audience excited, but this time it didn't pull out... DOH!!!

Geeeze not even my plane and I have tears in my eyes. I would be scared enough just owning something like this let alone flying something like this.

What a drag, so sad. Beautiful bird there. The money's one thing, but the time and effort...100's of hours in a plane like that.
