Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Looking forward to watching how to build your own beaver!!

So if I read this correctly a skinny beaver with big flaps will float and if inverted could keep themselves neatly trimmed??

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Wow guys!! 35 posts and haven't even put the wood to the beaver yet, LOL

Just a little update... Met up with Brad and Andy today... Gave Brad the test stand for the DA70 pipe testing and in return Andy gave me the beaver plans, LOL. Tomorrow I'll get the beaver and float plans photocopied so we each have a set and I can start

We spread the beaver out on the grass and gave it a good look over ... Gonna be a pretty big plane and with floats and retracts is gonna stand just over 3ft tall

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Just wanted to say thanks to Doug for the great chat tonight about the Beaver build

Doug is sending us the real drawings (9 sheets) of the 1946 Beaver from Dehaviland

Also had a discussion about how the horizontal stabs are too forward on the fuse and not to scale and how full up elevator will interfere with the rudder. I'll make the necessary mods to fix this. I really appreciate the help!!

A plain beaver would be booooooring

Just cracked the box open . Shocked how hairy the wood is. Gonna need to clean things up a bit
