No rush... You may want to start thinking about a kit/price as well Though, shipping for this big guy will probably be far from reasonable... Oh, well, maybe you'll come to Ottawa one day!

Whoops, I didn't clik far enough ahead.... Found quite a few more posts... Like that new sBach Gaston.. REAL big...
Flew my 33" sBach yesterday afternoon at our field, well, had one flight, fair, then, ...... all hell broke loose, something was out of alignment and the right aileron stuck straight up....
What a spirile into mother earth... Needless to say, it's scrap now... Got a video of it and will post on YouTube as soon as I get the nerve up... One remark I made, "Whooops!"
Am anxious to see more pics of the biggie you have...
Still flying the bejeepers out of the 20" sBach, and having a ball with it...
Oh, YouTube?? Mr ArtLane, and you'll find it...
Lousey day today, so, got swim at the gym then, take the gear out of the old sBach and contemplate building a bigger one.... Maybe a 50"?????????

Hey Gaston... looks great. I like the wood template add-ons - nice touch!

Question - hard to see on the angles of the photos... are you adding any of the normal down+right thrust or some other angles?

Whatever your answer is, can you elaborate on your reasons please? I'm curious to know what others think on the 3D type planes... ie. whether its really good/bad/needed/not and whether it makes a difference with the size and shape/profile of the plane. I did add the down+right on the Sparrow Hawk (aka '2-Site'), but am wondering if I could get away without it... may try one out sometime, but thought I'd ask.

To those to make your own; I now cut my own blue/pink foam boards from construction
foam at whatever thickness I do need. I made a (planer) smooth arborite flat surface
and above it I have a heated cutting wire preset at the thickness desired. Supported
by the edges of the board. The board is 20 inches long by 8 inches wide. The side edges
where the cutting wire lies is indented to the thickness required. Example; With 2 inch
stock and a weight on top, I feed it slowly at the predetermined height and end up
with nice foam blanks for wing or fuselage of 1/8 or what you want.

I don't have any right or down angle built into the kit, it's very easy to add a couple washers at the right locations to obtain the desired angles but for the time being, I like the way it flies, I might do some experimenting later on.
It was great flying with you also.

Well, 1/2" blue foam is almost impossible to get here, but, I can get 1" and that cutting trick of guyl is an old one, but very useful for this stuff... Looks like I have a full day ahead of me, enlarging my plan, procuring Blue foam, setting up my old cutter table, check out the power supply, and away I go.............. 1/2" here we come....
As for R or D thrust, up to the point in time of the foamies, I never built either one in, just compensated for "Yank" with the rudder or elevator, but, since building foamies, I find that a bit of right and down, does help, some......
Gaston, like that CNC cutting that's being done... any idea on a kit price yet????
