Exploring options just yet. Service worries me a bit with ZDZ. My 100 run hundred of flights without issues though.

Just getting caught up as the (5 min epoxy is curing) decided to stay with the 35cc and going light except on the rudder servo. Lorne is gonna look for an eme wraparound so I can dump this heavy shiny dla32 Pitts. Trevor this airframe so already cut light you would like it for a back seat plane on the short hour days to come.

Seems to me it's all about the breakin and keeping them cool in the process. Treat a ZDZ with a little extra care on breakin and be rewarded with a stellar engine.

I have two zdz112s running now.
First was Trevor's. The second was broken in much more carefully than the usually takeoff and hover procedure used in the EM! Actually ran 4-5 tanks thought it on the ground. Lol
Both have been flawless. Lots of power. Rips falcon 28x9.5 easily on proflow cans. Spins 29x9W well, with a hint of rip at full throttle. Rips 29x9w easily on es55g composite pipes.
A little quirky starting it. But once you figure it out, its reliable and repeatable.

If you take a die grinder to the mtw headers brad mentioned, you can chamber the top and button edges of the inlet in the flange to be almost exactly the same opening as on the engine.

Actually there is one thing I don't like about the 112. It spits fuel out the carb into the motor box when choked like an angry cobra! Make sure you fuel proof the motor box and everything back to your tank really well!

Jack it was easy to build a Carb box in SukTwo. I thought I let you look at it, on tear-down. A real cure, to tame the Angry Cobra.

Estevan, safe & sound.

Thanks for the input guys.

I usually build a false firewall out of balsa, fuel proof it. Drill holes where needed for throttle and choke rods. Make sure there's enough airflow around the engine box for the carb air. Drill a hole where the false firewall and bottom of engine box meet to let the angry spitting cobra have it's way....

Estevan....population?
