I have a Goldberg Extra 330 that is going to be the test bed for this engine in the air.
I am all most finished with it.
I really would like to try a Mejzlik 23 X 8 and a Xoar 23-3DA on this engine.
To me it seems like the 23" will be the ticket, even thought that Xoar 24-3DA's numbers impressed me.
I will do some actual pull test with a scale with each prop as soon as the airframe is ready.
Still need to put in radio gear and finish painting the cowl.

With my experience from past engines from CRRC, they won't get my vote anytime soon.

Time will tell if they finally get it right

I never had any issues with my GF26I or my GF50I.
My 26cc screamed, I got 9500 rpm's with an APC 17 X 6. Great transition and good idle.
Pulled my 11 lb. Seagull Laser 200 great.

I actually sold everything off and went with two 33%-35%'ers.
I had my 1st gasser ( Goldberg Extra 330 77" wingspan ) in a corner with a busted up front end.
When CRRC sent me this engine to test, I did the repairs on it to test this engine, thats all I had left.

So my current fleet is:

33% Lanier Yak 54 with a DL-100.

35% Hangar 9 Extra 260 with a DL-100.

77" Goldberg Extra 330 with the prototype CRRC GP50R.

Re: New CRRC Pro GP50R prototype 50cc

Perhaps I should say "engine" not engines.

I have been using gas engine since 1987..I currently have 13 gas engines ranging from 40cc to 157cc of which 8 are in service and the other 5 are waiting in line

Nothing against your new CRRC GP50R,,Just I had a bad experience a few years back.Wish you all the luck as the market is extremely flooded with 50cc engines and I assume there'll be more to come

Re: New CRRC Pro GP50R prototype 50cc

Certainly CRRC must be commended on thier efforts to improve..Your videos definitly show a strong, good running engine

As we all know, the king of 50cc engines went through a few teething problems also..Perhaps fixed and rectified without pain to the consumer alot quicker than some others out there.

By the way, I own only one DA and it runs OK.

Re: New CRRC Pro GP50R prototype 50cc

I just went outside to do a quick rpm check switching to the CRRC pitts muffler. I only tried the JFX 23 X 8.
The stock DA/DL style muffler @ 6870 rpm.
Took that off and installed the pitts muffler.
The CRRC Pro pitts muffler @ 6720 rpm.
So running them back to back the pitts lost 150 rpm, but was much quitier then the DA/DL stock style muffler.
It is 45 degrees and rainy, humidity is a 89%, pressure @ 29.81, dew point @ 36.

Re: New CRRC Pro GP50R prototype 50cc

Makes it quite strong for 50cc..There's lots of others out there boasting numbers like that but with 55cc and up..Not a fair comparison in my opinion..some are over 10% larger dis.

I am actually looking forward to trying one of these.Do you have any timeline as to when they may be released

Re: New CRRC Pro GP50R prototype 50cc

I just came inside from doing different prop rpm and pull test on eack prop.
I was actually shocked at the results, I was thinking the Mejzlik all the way.
These are actual rpm numbers and pull on the scale at the same time.
Using a digital fish scale and no needle changes between props.

Mejzlik 22 X 8.............. 7350 rpm @ 30 lbs. 12 oz. of pull.
Hawk 22 X 8...............7500 rpm @ 34 lbs. 12 oz. of pull.
Hawk 22 X 8 3D..........6570 rpm @ 33 lbs. 9 oz of pull.
Hawk 22 X 10.............6600 rpm @ 32 lbs. 10 oz. of pull.
JFX 22 X 10.............6510 rpm @ 32 lbs. 12 oz. of pull.
JFX 23 X 8...............6700 rpm @ 32 lbs. 9 oz. of pull.
Hawk 23 X 8...............6600 rpm @ 33 lbs. 5 oz. of pull.
Xoar 24A 3D..............6300 rpm @ 31 lbs. 12 oz. of pull.
Xoar 24 X 10.............5700 rpm @ 32 lbs. 00oz. of pull.

To my surprise the top four in pounds of pull are HAWKS, with the top rpm and pounds of pull performer being the Hawk 22 X 8 with 7500 rpm and 34 lbs. 12 oz. of pull.
Sorry to say the most expensive and best looking prop ( Mejzlik ) had the least pounds of pull.
Well, I will see how it will perform in the air.
The test subject is @ a dry weight of 15 lbs. 6 oz.

Re: New CRRC Pro GP50R prototype 50cc

I did three flights.
I bought a 23 X 7 JC Super pro to do testing with.
The 23 X 7 turned @ 7450 rpm.
Low end, in the air was a little rich.
It was actually ripping the prop at wide open.
The wife had a real hard time with filming, she usally take great videos.
She was having a hard time with the sun, planes color, and the color of the sky, so there are on a couple short videos.
It was 53 degrees and 10-15 mph winds, and the winds were knocking the plane around for sure.
Top end was great and pull out is awsome, idle and transition are also great.
Lean low end up some to get rid of the burble and do some more flights.
