Trevor, did I miss what you used for canopy paint? (probably, oops).
I expect it was the stuff sold for car clear bodies.

Brad - I was kinda thinking of putting a little "beak" on the top of the canopy like the VW - not near as pronouced, but a little one.

Thoughts??
Yep just a slight "beak" I think would be the best. I think that added touch really adds to the cool factor

I personally prefeer without "beack"

But it's your plane, and I'm sure it will look awesome anyway!!

The real one doesn't have a "beak" on the top of the canopy. I was thinking of having the orange around the TE of the glass be about 1/2" wide on the sides and about 1" wide at the top - so just a little beak.

Or will that look funny? Perhaps I should stick with scale?

Hey yeah look at that no beak. Perhaps lay it out with fine line tap and see what it would look like. The canopy on the Edge is smaller than the 260 so kinda hard to get a picture of it

Exactly Dale!... Just the $6 small cans of Lexan car-body paint. Doesn't take much to black it out

In the past have you had any problems with canopies (black) getting soft distorting from sunlight exposure?

Re: 126" Carden Extra260 / MVVS190 - BBT

Hmmm I dont know.... I like the look without any complication and with the stripe being paralled to the TE of the glass.... but it's me

PS. have you noticed what car is driving Mr. Ivanoff in the video? a Fiat 500!! ITALIANS ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! hahahahaha

I have the same car...well, not the "giardinetta" version (wich is the station Wagon of the 500's) just the regular and It's an awesome car!!: 500cc engine, with less power than the planes we fly todays, top speed of 75 Kph (mine is a bit lazy hahaha) and last but not least, sometimes it make more smoke than a plane runing SUPER DRI smoke oil!!!!

Re: 126" Carden Extra260 / MVVS190 - BBT

ROTFL!!!! It's a stylish looking car Daniele!!

75kph! Impressive!

I just took a break and went into the shop and laid out some fine-line on the TE of the canopy. To be honest, I think like a constant stripe of orange on the TE. The beak option I think looks a bit weird for this scheme.

Maybe before painting, I'll take some shots and get some final opinions!!

I haven't had any issues yet but I'm sure with very little effort, you could deform it. We've been at some pretty steamy events - as soon as it gets warm, we usually pull out our planewrappers - makes a huge difference to the appearance of a plane after a few seasons....www.planewrappers.com
