5% nitro? Is it "milky" looking? I don't know what would cause it to discolor, but obviously something isn't correct. At a cost of only about $17.00 per gallon I'd through it out. This fall I received two gallons of 10% from a guy who had a border that left it behind when the border moved out. Both containers had been opened, but the fuel looked and smelled OK. When my son and I went out to fly, using the free fuel, both he and I had flame-outs with our respective models - the first time that that has ever happened. $35.00 of fuel is not worth the potential loss of a model - I chucked the fuel, used a fresh gallon and haven't had a repeat problem.

You can dispose of it at a hazardous waste facility.

It is likely stale. Lost nitro, absorbed water from the air, lost methanol. What I do is pour the old jug it into the tank of my vehicle. Then top off the tank with fresh fuel and drive.

A hazardous facility disposal is rather extreme and un-necessary. Look up the MSDS sheet for the fuel you have. It will guide you on how to dispose of it. For example:
http://www.morganfuel.com/msds_fuels.htm

Proper means of disposal is merely incineration. Just figure out a safe way to burn in. Use it up, bit at a time, lighting your campfire. Or use whole jug as a Bonfire lighter fluid

Go buy a new jug for your RC needs.
