OS25 Help required
Hey all,
Here is my quandry. I recently purchased an OS25 from another RCC user. I just noticed that the muffler supplied is a two bolt muffler and the moter requires a one bolt. What model engine is this and where can i find a muffler? The picture below shows the motor and the supplied muffler. Maybe there is an adapter that is missing? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Re: OS25 Help required
The muffler may be the type that had a strap go around the cylinder. Not hard to make using a piece of sheet alum. about 3/8" wide. The centre bolt hole you are commenting about was not used for a muffler but a rotating exhaust restricter that was connected to the carb linkage. They where a good engine and probably by the looks of it still is.
Hope this is some help. John

i bought an OS 25 last year. you have either an old engine with a new muffler or some other combination as these two are not the original mates. john

Re: OS25 Help required
You need OS Max muffler # 702 This is a collector item now because your engine is out of production since 25 years now!

Re: OS25 Help required
Cosmos is right.
Try going to the swap meets. Take the engine with you and try on the mufflers that are for sale. Soundmaster mufflers fit on with a strap. I saw a bunch for sale at the Whitby swap meet. |

Re: OS25 Help required
Is the muffer you got with it a good fit on the engine opening. Could use a U shaped strap with end bent 90 degree to match the muffler bolts. I have an OS 703 Muffler. If you can measure the exhaust opening it may fit. I have a 702 with a 20 OS and the 703 is bigger opening.
