Re: Purchase Help

That depends on what kind of radio it is and brand of batteries. Build it up on greathobbies webpage and find out what it would cost there. Does it have a charger for the Lipo's.

my guess it would have cost:
$470 450 pro
$130-175 sim
$150 (guessing that it is a DX6I) radio
$10-70 for lipos (depends on brand)
= $760-935

hope that helps

Re: Purchase Help

That doesn't sound like that bad of the deal then if that is what you are looking for. If everything is new and Batt are in good shape still. Are you new too the hobby? Beside if he is asking 800 you might beable to get it for a little less.

Re: Purchase Help

i flew helis back in 86 87 and had not progressed to flying from the side. was comfortable hovering and walking around with it. I am now 50 and would like to get back into it now that they are electric and more stable. I am not looking for 3d flight .i just want to put a scale body on it and buzz around nice and easy. Any thing i should be aware of?

Re: Purchase Help

Not to much to be aware of about the heli. Just go over every nut and bolt and make sure they are tight and loctited where required. If the batt are not brand new just make sure that they are not soft or swollen or have a dead cells. thunder power batt are top of the line so they should be good. Be sure to get a balance lipo charger for them. Not sure if you know or not but the 450pro is a torque tube tail drive, so you will probably not be able to put it in any scale fuselage that has a raised tail. If you want it to be as stable as possible I would check out your local field and get help setting it up. Set up is every if making it stable and easier to fly. Crashed my 450 alot untill i was showed how to set it. Spend lots of time on the sim and enjoy flying heli's again

Re: Purchase Help

I am not sure if that will fit or not. I have yet to build any scale heli's. Sorry I can't help you there.

Like you, I had flown heli's back long time ago, I got good enough with a xcell 60 to do a figure 8 once and awhile. And like you now that they are electric its learning all over again. I have couple of 450's to practice with, and boy do I need lots of practice.

You might want to wait on the scale body tell you have flown it for awhile.

Above all things have fun, I do.

Should fit without a problem. In fact, a TT might be easier than a belt because it is difficult to put the belt tail back together after fitting it in. With a TT, you simply push it in place.

I have a 450 sized Hughes 500E that is belt driven.

Only other thing I'm going to say is if you are intending to put a 5-bladed head in, then a TT version will be a problem because you need to slow the headspeed down a lot, but will then loose tail authority. With a belt driven tail, there are 'modifications' that you can make to make the tail ratio greater than 6:1.

Hope this helps.
