Somebody say success story. I installed it the thing worked my servos they made a lot of noise then one crapped out. I'm using it on a PCM system not a PPM system is this my problem? Got it to download on Windows XP but Vista is a lost cause

Re: Flymentor Success Stories

OK I think I figured this out! I never set up the heli with my radio before installing the flightmentor in other words no adjustments were made after building cuz I figured I could do that through the comp. All those that can tell me where I am going wrong would be a help I'm almost afraid to put the flightmentor back in for fear I will fry another servo

Re: Flymentor Success Stories

I flew mine first and got it set up then put the flymentor in. I recall reading that you should do it that way some where. It did require reversing some of the servos on the radio after the Flymentor was installed. I was able to hover hands off on the first Flymentor flight.

Aww...you are being a little bashful?

I recall being in the pit helping a young fella with his heli when we all were startled by a yell from the flight line and here was Dave yelling "HEY LOOK, I'M FLYING!!!!" and we all could see your heli flying, hovering steady and your hands off the controls.

Need I say how big your grin was?

Re: Flymentor Success Stories

I had a quick look at the manual, and Windows OS is required.
Can Windows 7 be used or would it need an older OS?
Thanks.

They say Windows 7 won't work or even 64 bit Vista. XP is best. I think some have done OK with Vista 32 bit. However, Flymentor now sells a stand alone product that will do the programming, eliminating the need for your own PC.

For 50 bucks, it might be a better way to go if you've only got Windows 7.

Re: Flymentor Success Stories

Looks like a handy unit.
I'm leery of ordering from China though.

I have placed 32 orders with Hobby King numerous ones through ebay and a few odd ones I have found on line . Usually shipping from China is faster than coast to coast Canada or out of the states

Re: Flymentor Success Stories

It's not being ripped off that concerns me.
Maybe I'm paranoid, but I don't like spreading personal info as trivial as it is.

I have ordered several items from hobby king for friends who don't have credit cards or paypal or otherwise couldn't get stuff from the internet.
