Same here. I just got into EDF with a pair of BAE Hawks, one Eflite and the other from Models by John. Will be interesting to compare the two.

Re: Great Planes F-4 Phantom

If I ever get my hands on a 77 DF unit and engine, I'll have to build the ducted fan F-4 I have plans for. Next plans built on the list though, a huge A-10..

Re: Great Planes F-4 Phantom

Naw, don't have that many df's, but I'm pretty sure that there's a 77, fan, and pipe that would fit inside your phantom sitting in a drawer in my old shop down home in C.B.
Did I ever mention how scary it is that our taste in planes match ???????
If I give it to you then I'll have a regal eagle available, maybe that fella from South Africa might want it.

Re: Great Planes F-4 Phantom

The regal eagle is cool, I've built Parkinson's F-18 and Arrow, modified both quite a bit for scale, but they flew great, and I hear the Eagle was his best flyer. I'll probably start cutting all the templates soon (or bug Leeann to!), lol, for the F-4 DF, the A-10, and I have to get going on the Cessna 337 plans.

Re: Great Planes F-4 Phantom

The 12 X 500 lb bombs are all painted, installed on the pylons, and mounted on the wings. Will work on the smaller wing drop tanks over the next couple of days, and get those mounted on the outer pylons. Long range, and big load! Too bad I can't use the drop tanks for real, not much space for fuel in this puppy with the cockpit kits!

Check ebay for the "fourmost" bomb release unit. Small pull pin that can be actuated with a sullivan cable and a small servo... I use them on my H9 corsair to drop the hobbyking bombs.

Re: Great Planes F-4 Phantom

I've looked at them, for sure. Just doing fixed ordnance for this one, they don't make these bombs anymore, sadly, and hate to lose them! I'll have to do something bomb wise for my Ziroli B-25 though!
