I say we see how quickly we can do battery changes and just do a 30 minute main...

I know 1/8 e-buggy will be big but how many e-truggys will be out there is my one question.

One of the ideas that was thrown around for GLORCS was to have longer electric qualifyers to give the extra runtime to the E-Guys. 10 minute quallys and 10 minute mains. This way nobody dumps on the track during a main, but they get the extra run time over the course of the day.
How long are the E-Mains at the major races? I'm talking the big ones in the states.

From the looks of the Roar 1/8th electric nationals the mains were each 10 minutes http://www.offroadrc.ca/showthread.php?t=34357

The only thing that sucks about Hardcore is that its almost 2 hours from my house (with light traffic)!!! Oh ya,and that it doesnt have a roof yet!! Think you could work on those 2 things to make it less sucky??

I'd like to see 15min mains, maybe 7min qualifiers? Triple A mains are fun, but probalby not the best to run on a club race day. I think at first the 10min main idea is a good idea and then go from there. I'm sure Jay will change things as they progress through out the year. First..I want to see 2 heats of E Buggy!

Jay, Love the action shots ! Ah the memories ... I wonder what this year will bring ...

And I am looking forward to the melt ! Can't wait to get down there and run this E-bug, it will be interesting to see how I do with out having to worry about nitro and tuning.

To this end, qualifying should also be structured in such a way that the electric racers have ample time to charge their batteries between the 3rd qualifier, and the 1st main. Just bringing it to the table as something to consider in case anyone was thinking about running electrics in the later/higher heats!
Definitely a good point Kevin, I haven't sat down and thought about the order of everything yet, but definitely need to keep the charging thing in mind!

That sounds like a good plan too...

I always liked 7 minute mains for Nitro as well, but not always enough time in the day to do it... but electrics it could easily work because you don't need to warm them up as much (just a few laps to get the battery juices flowing! )

Sorry for all the clutter in your thread Jay!
