Awesome build Martinic. Did you make that Cloverleaf antenna? (Or w/e it is). I'm thinking of attempting to make one this weekend.

Re: Multirotor Pictures and Videos

Thanks AdamM!

Yes, I built the video antenna based on iBCrazy's design. I don't have an SWR meter to verify it, but it works very well in field use. It`s matched with a Skew Planar Wheel, also of iBCrazy's design. Both are built right-hand polarized.

You can find all of Alex's designs on his blog on RC Groups. There's also a file you can download with all of his antenna designs. He's made an remarkable contribution to the FPV hobby.

Just in case you're interested, this is my FPV ground station. The sun hood is home made from foam board, foam and duct tape and is my own design. Cheap and effective!

Re: Multirotor Pictures and Videos

I love lunchtime FPV quadding.

I just find a green space, set up my gear in all of 2 minutes, then start exploring the area

I can usually bang in 3 FPV flights before I have to get back to the office.
Here is a little teaser from what I did today.

Re: Multirotor Pictures and Videos

I Made CloverLeaf and Skew Planar antenna's late last week and they definitely improved my reception over the stock antenna's that came with the 900Mhz system I'm using.

I definitely didn't make them perfectly but as i'm seeing an improvement, i don't feel the need to remake them anytime soon.

I've been renovating my house over the last year and so i have a lot of extra 14/2 electrical wiring left over. I used that copper wiring for my antennas. Its bendable but also seems to be stiff enough that its not Too easily damaged. Mainly though: the price is right - 'Free'.

I'll update later with pictures to show my first Hack job.

Adding this here since it's relevant. This is a first video for a build I'm working on (unfinished, but flying): https://vimeo.com/45414261/

Re: Multirotor Pictures and Videos

Nice flight. Reports of UFO sightings must have increased that night! Now you just need to make the LEDs flash in sequence!
