Oh oh, someone with prairie thermals to work with! Some of those suckers will make a DLG disappear so fast it won't come down fro 3 weeks!

Re: 2010 DLG Duration Challenge

I will give it a shot and hopefully learn from trying. The boys down south in Calgary are blessed with better places to fly than I have around Edmonton. Maybe the hot air around the Legislature grounds will help. Good luck to you all.

Re: 2010 DLG Duration Challenge

Doe that mean if you fly in Ottawa downtown you should stay up forever?

If I can get a decent DLG for the summer I would not mind take at shot at it.

The only problem is you'd get a ticket for "loitering" and sent to the Royal Ottawa Hospital for playing with your "antena in a public place".......lol.

Re: 2010 DLG Duration Challenge

I had over hour flights long ago with my Monarch HLG. Its easy to launch a Gentle Lady or light 2M glider into thermals. However the class limit is 1.5M . I fly 72mhz so at least if I get caught in Ottawa I feel better endowed than the 2.4 guys :---)
