OK, got you... only one of my lens are polarised and I never noticed too much different, although now that you mention it, when I look at my digital watch or the cycling computer on my bike it does look "weird"...

I just had a very interesting experience recently... last week, I was on vacation with my wife. We took a 5 day cruise, and me being kind of easy to get motion sick, I was on some medication for it. A side effect was a decrease in vision... so much so, I was almost blind trying to focus on anything closer than 5 feet to my face and I couldnt read, or look in the mirror, etc.

It certainly opened my eyes so to speak on how much I take my normally excellent vision forgranted.

I will be 40 this year. I think in part, I have to thank my excellent vision to the fact I wear my glasses all the time when doing out door sports and especially when flying. I hope my vision stays decent for years to come.. and a good pair of sunglasses will definitely help.

Re: sunglasses

I do believe that polarized lenses were developed by Edwin Land of Polaroid fame who made enough money to cock a snoot at Kodak when they would not consider an instant photography system he had worked on, so he went off and started Polaroid! Which is probably why he sued them and others for infringement and closed down Kodak's Instant Photo products! I do believe he started out using iodine crystals which are apparently rods, but these stories may be apocryphal! Good night all!

Re: sunglasses

I have the lightweight ZR2 from Zurich...but I dropped them when they were on top of my head when it was shady and I looked up...they slipped off and both times one arm broke off...that easy. Im on my third set of arms for them. They had a defect in the plastic hinge that they resolved... and I still broke the arm off. I ran into the distributor in Chatham last year and he gave a couple spares.
The ones that the guy has at Toledo are the Z1's that are like a monster set of glasses and he beats them with his fist to prove how tough they are. He would NOT do that with the thin ZR2's as I requested.
