Re: New flight pack batteries

Seems like a great idea, but I could not find any prices. Hope they have some at Toledo, as most of my NiCad and NiMH packs are due for replacement before the new flying season.

My only concern would be their peak voltage after charging. Some of my craft have the Futaba FP-149DP Rx's, which seem to have a lot of reports of low tolerance for higher voltages and/or spikes. I've already fried a few myself when the ESC's failed.
I know there's money in aviation........I put it there!

Re: New flight pack batteries

Been using the Black and Decker VPX packs which are 1100mah cylindrical 2 cell packs last year with XPS receivers and now Hitec 2.4 receivers also. Hitec servos and a few JR. Seems to work great. I just did a mid winter recharge and the packs took about 100mah to peak.
Batteryspace .com has the cylindrical packs it seems 1500mah for about $12 US.

I'm looking forward to these new rectangular(prismatic??) packs.

Hobbycity has 4500mah 2s2p rectangular packs for $25 so for large models they would work.
Tower has half the capacity, the packs in the link above) for $35 so we know where the smart money will go.
Looks like we'll get 1100mah packs of this type for about $10 or less if we wait and shop around.
